I Love Visitors, Weddings and Rosh Hashanah!

I love having visitors in town. It’s a great way to take a mini vacation, even if you have to work. My sweetie’s mom came to visit and I had a blast!!!

Thursday, I took the day off to hang out and have a girl’s day and get to know her. We had so much fun. We started with a leisurely lunch at Gallery Bistro in International Plaza Mall in Tampa. Mom got the blackened shrimp salad with pineapple-mango salsa, pecans, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, tomatoes, spring mix & citrus raspberry vinaigrette.

And I got the crab stuffed avocado salad with tomatoes, capers, cucumbers, spring mix & citrus vinaigrette.

Then we shopped for a while. I love girly days!

Later that night, sweet man took his girls out to dinner at Samurai Blue in Ybor City. We split a plethora of sushi:

Edamame to start.

And ceviche.

Caterpillar roll.

Friday I had to work, but we all met up for dinner at Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill on Clearwater Beach

I missed the pictures of our apps, way too hungry after the hour wait, I just dug in. But we got the calamari and she crab soup, and both were delicious. I got the grouper sandwich sliders:

Sunset on the beach:

Saturday I set up for 2 beautiful weddings. One at the stable and one at the B&B. The stable wedding was a fall themed wedding. The bride is a teacher and the groom an administrator, so it had some great teacher themed touches:

Escort cards.

She’s from the Mid West, he’s from Florida. I thought this was adorable:

And the B&B wedding:

After work, the sweet man and I went out to dinner with our mom’s at Season’s 52. We had a great time. I was feeling adventurous and tried the lamb chops:

They were really good. This was my first time with lamb chops, and they were a little hard to eat. It’s like eating a mini t-bone steak, and a lot ended up being left on the bone. Everyone else’s meals were amazing as well:

Sweet man’s swordfish.

My mama’s filet.

SM’s mama’s sea scallops.
Yum, yum, yum, and yum!
But the highlight of the meal was the dessert shots. They bring out a sampler to choose from:

And we choose them ALL 🙂

There was pumpkin pie, key lime pie, raspberry cheesecake, pecan pie, chocolate peanut butter mousse, red velvet cake, carrot cake, and a coffee chocolate dessert, and one more that I can’t remember, I must have hit my sugar coma at that point. It was wonderful!

Sunday was a lovely day of relaxation. Slept in! Cleaned my apartment, and met up with the wonderful Bonnie for lunch. We went to Sweet Tomatoes, and I failed at getting pictures. What was I thinking? Then we headed to Ybor City and checked out a couple vintage clothing stores. Oh yes, I got some leg warmers. I’m bringing back the 80’s. Then we relaxed at my place for while.

I was sad to see her go today, but glad I could join them for lunch at Sweet Tomatoes again. If you haven’t tried Sweet Tomatoes yet, go there!!! It’s a fresh, awesome salad bar, with soups and frozen yogurt, oh, and warm chocolate chip cookies. What could be better? We said our good byes, and I headed into work. I really love all my bride’s , it’s so fun to meet with them!!!!!!!!!!

Can I just back track a little, because this is way to important not to mention. Wednesday evening, I celebrated my first Jewish holiday with the sweet man. I made him a Rosh Hashanah feast. We had apples dipped in honey:

My honey didn’t have a small bowl for the honey, so I improvised and made one out of an apple.
We also had kugel:

Honey carrots:

And my favorite, bagels and lox:

Soooooooo goooooooood!!! What a great 5 days it has been!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
